Lots to see and do
Newpark enjoys spectacular views of Port Eynon Bay and surrounding countryside, of the Gower peninsular, the first area to be given the title of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On a clear day you can see the Devon coastline.
The beach has been awarded a Blue flag and has lifeguards (May-Oct). It offers a wide range of water sports, safe bathing and sea fishing. The surrounding countryside is ideal for gentle family rambles, or more energetic hikes.
Port Eynon Gower was the First Area to be given the Title of "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" (AONB), by the government back in 1956, other areas around the Uk have since be given this title, and this year 2006 is celebrating its Golden Anniversary 50 years.
The area is very popular with conservationists, as it offers a Micro Climate. And an array of different species of plants, wild flowers and insects.
There are the remains of a Salt house on the beach, which has a lot of interest and history.
